Elk Creek Farm is a hybrid - an old farmhouse that is being gently restored and upgraded while being dressed in a modern
style that compliments and accentuates the best of both worlds. It's all about quality and the senses - from the wood
inside to the forest outside, from the smell of incense or pie inside to the perfect fresh country air outside.
The owners are bringing farming back to the farm. They put in a vegetable and herb garden every year. Late spring through late fall you will share the property with the owners goats and sheep - but don't worry someone else will come over to take care of them.
The downstairs has ample rooms, living and dining are combined in one, den, kitchen with dishwasher and pellet stove, full bath make up the rest. It's
always a treat to rent a house when the owners are an artist and an interior designer -- their creative use of color and texture makes for a comfortable yet invigorating experience.
The kitchen has a pellet stove for extra heat and a breakfast nook. The heat for the kitchen comes out from under the banquet seats for toasty buns in the morning!
The den is a great place to hunker down with a cup of tea and great book. Chances are there will be some tea samples for you to choose from as the owner blends the most incredible teas. There is no TV here but let us know if that's a problem.
The twenty six acres are surrounded by lands still owned by the original farmers families. Hayfields, the old barn, gardens and more will
invite you to walk slowly and notice everything.
